Donation Information

Collie Concern is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization, so your dollars are tax deductible.

Collie Concern Rescue was incorporated in 2004. In an IRS Letter dated March 29, 2004, CCR was determined to be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Our federal ID is: 65-1212684.

We have no paid employees.  Everyone working for Collie Concern Rescue is an unpaid volunteer.  All donations are used directly to help collies in need.  In addition to our greatest expence of veterinary care for the collies in our care, we may also use donations to cover other expenses such as the cost of this website, email, voicemail, transportation of collies to foster homes or forever homes, flea medication, collars and leashes, signage and fundraising supplies, advertisements,  office supplies and any other material or service that the Board of Directors deems necessary to the running of the rescue.  No donation is used to benefit an individual person.  All donations are used to uphold our mission:

"To facilitate the adoption of displaced collies into loving and responsible homes and to provide a good interim quality of life for homeless collies. Our focus is on matchmaking the right collie into the right adoptive home. Collie Concern Rescue seeks to educate the public on responsible dog ownership through mentoring and post-adoption services."

Euthanization Policy
Collie Concern Rescue is a no-kill Rescue. Euthanizations are allowed only with veterinarian recommendation and by Board approval and only for the following reasons:
a) The dog has been deemed ill or suffering to the point that medical intervention will not alleviate such suffering.
b) The behavior of such animal is deemed so extreme by the Board of Directors, significant medical and behavioral interventions have been tried without success, and alternative placements have been considered.
c) The dog has a verifiable history of biting humans.
